Shipping After Brexit: What You Need to Know
The UK’s transition period is ending on December 31st and as of the 1st January 2021, the UK will have officially left the EU. This means the EU may begin to treat UK imports as it does non-EU imports today.
The UK’s departure from the European Union will have a significant impact on businesses that trade overseas, regardless of whether a trade deal is negotiated with the EU.
Here at PBS International, we are fully prepared for the changeover and are committed to servicing our customers in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.
Preparing for Brexit
PBS International has invested considerable time and money in a brand-new infrastructure and we are already at an advanced stage of preparations for handling trade to and from the EU from January 1st 2021. We can act as your customs intermediary should you require one for all your customs requirements.
Our fully trained staff are 7 days a week, 365 days a year, meaning you can contact us at any time and we will get back to you with an immediate answer for those shipments which require constant attention.
At this time where the movement of goods is even more critical and important than before, we look forward to providing continued support to your business and will uphold our service promises even during the challenging times ahead.
What’s next?
Our highly trained experienced customers brokers are ready and waiting to process entries on your behalf. They recognise that many businesses will be unaware of forthcoming changes to customs procedures, or uncertain about what Brexit could mean for their shipments and are here to make everything as simple and straightforward as possible.
As you may be aware any good entering the UK after 31st December 2020 will need a customs declaration (some non-restricted goods are permitted to enter the UK on a Duty deferral scheme) we can advise further regarding this if required.
For more information about the upcoming changes, please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries or for an immediate quotation.
